Søren Lyngsø Knudsen
SOREN LYNGSO KNUDSEN is a Danish composer, computer-programmer, teacher, and a visual artist based in Copenhagen, who works with all kinds of art-related projects. He composes electronic music and holds a master's degree in electronic music composition from the Royal Academy of Music from 2009. Soren plays solo concerts under the moniker “Vectral”, and also plays concerts with various other musicians in different groups – for example, the extended big band “Blood Sweat Drum + Bass”. He has played a lot of concerts both in- and outside Denmark. For example in China, Italy, France, Germany, England, and at the Roskilde Festival. Soren works with visuals and they act as a big part of his solo concerts which has been his goal from the beginning, to integrate sound and image into a single expression. For this purpose, he developed the program “Graphx” which translates sound to 3D graphic models. The visuals are used at the live concerts, but Soren also creates prints and installations from the generated material. As a composer, Soren creates music for all kinds of purposes – for film, theatre, performance-dance, commercials etc. For example, he composed the score music for the film “Alle for én” (All for one) with the actors Rutger Hauer, Mick Øgendal, Rasmus Bjerg etc. Soren works as a teacher at the Royal Academy of Music and Aarhus MGK. He teaches electronic music composition and production, electronic music history, live electronic music, programming and general audio engineering.
SOREN LYNGSO KNUDSEN has been composer in TRUST OFF in Denmark, BEHIND MY SKIN, LAYERS OF US, BLACK SIDE, COVER, EFFECT and OPEN YOUR HEART projects.
