Jullie Hjetland
JULLIE HJETLAND is a Danish / Norwegian composer, musician, singer, and performer. Two time’s winner of Danish Music Award 2009/2014, Nominated for a Reumert Price in 2018. Received DMF-talent price 2015. Nominated twice at Odense Live awards, and nominated for several other awards.
Educated with a master degree in Nordic Folk Music, specialised in singing, from Bergen University Norway/ Syddansk Musikkonservatorium og Skuespillerskole, Odense / Kungliga Musikhögskolan, Stockholm / Sibelius Akademi, Helsinki / Ole Bull Akademiet, Voss.
Jullie has been playing in several countries, performed released music in alliance with prominent musicians since 2007.
Because of her charismatic expression on stage and the significant signature there is in her sound, she is a sought after musician, in broad variety of genres, bands and projects. As a composer she has written music for several dance performances, worked as musical director on and off stage, within theatre, dance theatre, radio, podcast’s and films.
She has even performed at Berlin Fashion Week's in 2014, for the designer Mads Dinesen on he's Runway show.
In summer 2017, Jullie Hjetland will with her “aka” Lukkif, performs as the main character in DGI’s Opening event in Ålborg.
Lukkif is the name under which her electronic solo act runs, she has also been an active member of the Folk/jazz band called Nordens Tone since 2009. Since 2015 she has been a member of the price winning Nordic vocal ensemble, IKI. On the folkmusic scene she is often featured by the group Basco.
Jullie Hjetland is taking part in many projects which works interdisciplinary. Like the artist community MYRKR, that since 2014 has been making podcast, events and performances, latest they produced a podcast serie for Danish National Radio ( P1 ) called, “Gemt i Mørket”.
JULLIE HJETLAND has been a composer for DUET performance.
