Laura Folch
LAURA FOLCH is a Spanish musician based in Barcelona. She is currently cellon professor at the Tortosa Conservatoire of the Diputació de Tarragona and she also heads the music education department in the Pau Casals museum of the Fundació Pau Casals. She specialized in Early Music playing with orquestras all round the world. She was a member for 15 years of Le Concert des Nations led by Jordi Savall. Also played in various symphony orquestras such as Orquestra Ciutat de Barcelona, Orquestra de Castilla y Leon and the Britten Pears orquestra and many smaller chamber ensembles. Later on she has collaborated with flamenco musicians and dancers and jazz based ensembles. She studied at the Royal College of Music in London the Koninklijk Conservatorium in the Hague and The Escola de Música de Barcelona. She holds a Bachelors degree in Cello performance and also a Teacher’s Diploma.
